LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor and reality TV personality Saga Adeolu has shared a candid take on one of the most talked-about aspects of filmmaking, kissing scenes.
Speaking during an episode of the Nolly Icons podcast, he addressed the reality of kissing scenes in films, calling the experience uncomfortable while urging fans to appreciate the effort actors put into making stories believable.
Saga revealed that the reality is far from glamorous as seen onscreen, rejecting the common belief that actors enjoy such moments.
The actor explained that many actors simply go along with it to create good content and deliver convincing performances.

In his words, kissing on set is “weird,” full of unwanted saliva and invasive, rather than exciting.
“It is not easy to kiss another actor. It is weird. I have not really had any good onscreen kiss. It is weird having people invade your mouth with saliva. It is not something we enjoy. People think we enjoy it, but we don’t. We are just doing it for the story most times,” he said.
Despite appearing in several romcoms, Saga admitted he has never found an onscreen kiss enjoyable.
He also revealed he would eliminate kissing scenes entirely if given the choice.

“If I had my way, I won’t kiss anyone in a film,” he declared.
Recalling one intense filming experience, he said, “There was a day I kissed four different girls on set,” stressing that such scenes are more about professionalism than pleasure, even when they look natural to viewers.
Furthermore, Saga called on fans and critics to rethink how they view actors involved in intimate scenes.
Instead of criticism, he believes performers deserve recognition for their dedication to making stories feel real.
The actor reiterated that the mental behind-the-scenes realities of Nollywood productions were difficult and actors only did it out of commitment to their craft.
