LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian businessman Olakunle Churchill has pushed back against breakup rumors involving his estranged wife Rosy Meurer, insisting their relationship never involved a legally or traditionally recognized marriage.
The reports of a divorce between the couple went viral online, suggesting an end to their union of almost seven years.

In response, Churchill firmly dismissed the narrative in a statement posted on Instagram, describing it as misleading and completely untrue.
He stressed that the situation being discussed does not reflect reality, stating explicitly that he was never legally or traditionally married to Rosy Meurer.
He revealed they only had an introduction ceremony for both families to know each other.
“Let me address this directly. The reports circulating online about a supposed divorce between myself and Roseline Meurer are completely false… There was no legally recognised marriage… What took place was an introduction. Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset,” he said.
Churchill raised concerns about documents allegedly linked to the claims, pointing out that he had not been officially notified of any legal action.
He noted that Meurer is currently being advised by misinformed media workers and “mango tree” legal practitioners.
“I was never served. So I ask a simple question: what exactly is being presented to the public, and how was it obtained? I am 100% sure that individuals without proper experience in the media space are advising Rosy incorrectly, alongside legal practitioners who operate under a mango tree and claim to produce divorce documents within 24 hours,” he added.

Meanwhile, the rumors gained traction after Meurer appeared in a recent video without her wedding ring and chose not to use Churchill’s surname.
Reports also claimed she filed for divorce on April 21, 2026, especially after the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Churchill also referenced his past relationship with Tonto Dikeh, stating that their issues had already been settled privately without public interference.
He then went ahead to downplay Meurer’s roles in his personal life, suggesting that another woman would have filled the void if she was not in the picture.
Online reactions have continued to pour in, with social media users sharing memes and trending phrases like “blur blur blurship,” hinting at Meurer’s surprise over Churchill’s strong response.
