LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- American Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish has ignited public debate after declaring meat consumption as “inherently wrong.”
In a video that quickly spread across social media, the 24-year-old artist shared her unfiltered thoughts on loving animals and consuming them for food.
The “Ocean Eyes” hitmaker revealed she was aware her remarks might not fully be accepted by many people, but maintained her stance.
”Y’all not gonna like me for this one. Eating meat is inherently wrong,” Eilish said.

Not stopping there, she maintained that people can only either love animals and not consume them, or eat meat and not publicly express love for them.
The artist argued that loving animals while also consuming them is contradictory to one’s belief.
”And then the other thing is, two things cannot coincide. I love animals. I love all animals so much and I eat meat. You just can’t do both. Sorry. You can eat meat. Go for it. You can love animals, but you can’t do both,” she added, acknowledging personal choice while firmly holding onto her position.
However, this isn’t the first time Eilish has used her voice to speak on issues beyond music.
Over the years, she has consistently advocated for environmental protection and promoted cleaner, greener energy solutions, aligning her lifestyle with her beliefs.
