LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has warned fans about a fraudster pretending to be him online, revealing details of the scheme and urging the public to stay alert.
The actor known for his energetic roles in Yoruba movies took to social media to alert fans that someone overseas is falsely claiming to be him in private conversations, particularly on WhatsApp.
In a post shared via Instagram, Johnson revealed that the suspected impersonator is based in the United Kingdom.
He included a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat to show how the individual has been misleading people while pretending to represent him.
Johnson made it clear that he has no connection to the person behind the messages.

He also stressed that the phone number used in the conversation does not belong to him and warned that he does not conduct business through any manager or personal assistant.
The actor urged fans to ignore any messages, offers, or deals coming from the impersonator.
“Scam alert. I do not know this person and or represent whatever what he or she stands for. Never used this number and for now I have no manager or personal assistant. Please ignore chats or business proposals from him or her. I do not know him or her,” he wrote.
While emphasizing that engaging with such scams could damage his reputation and mislead unsuspecting followers, he urged his followers to mass report the account and help end the menace.
“Please, let’s frustrate this number with calls and report it as well!”, Johnson urged, advising fans to verify information directly from official channels.
