LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Twenty-five years after the release of Survivor, one of the most iconic albums in girl group history, Global music star Beyoncé is taking a moment to reflect on the bond that shaped her early career with her “soul sisters,” Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
Over the weekend, the global superstar honored the 25th anniversary of their third studio album with an emotional tribute to her former Destiny’s Child bandmates.
Sharing the album cover on Instagram, Beyoncé expressed deep gratitude for Rowland and Williams, whom she referred to as her “soul sisters,” highlighting the lasting connection they share beyond music.
“Today celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Destiny’s Child’s third album, Survivor. To my soul sisters… I thank God for you both. It’s an honor to sing through life with you ladies by my side. Behind the curtains… Beyond the lights… Forever my Angels,” she wrote.
Moved by the tribute, Kelly Rowland echoed the sentiment, reflecting on how quickly time has passed.

“Where did the time go… 25 years is crazy. I love you BB. I love you Mimi. What a beautiful journey we have been blessed to have. DC for life. I love you,” she shared.
Also, Michelle Williams opened up about the emotional impact of the moment, describing herself as “humbled” by the group’s legacy.
“Beyonce and Kelly, we really did this!!!! I can’t thank you ladies enough for showing me love, loyalty and true sisterhood! We had so much fun, long days, nights, harmonizing about anything we could think of, travelling the world, meeting amazing supporters who still rock with us today!!!” Williams added.
Released at the height of Destiny’s Child’s fame, Survivor delivered several major hits, including “Survivor,” “Bootylicious,” “Emotion,” and “Nasty Girl,” the latter gaining international attention outside North America.
The album’s success further cemented the trio’s dominance in the early 2000s music scene, earning award recognition and global acclaim.
Destiny’s Child, originally formed in the late 1990s, became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, known for their strong vocals, empowering lyrics, and cultural influence.
Although the group officially disbanded in 2006 to pursue solo careers, the members have maintained a supportive friendship over the years, occasionally reuniting for special performances and public moments that continue to excite fans worldwide.
