LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- A viral clip showing Nigerian actress Funmiade Bank Anthony in a physical confrontation with controversial blogger Uche Maduagwu in Lagos, has stirred debate online, following a heated feud that quickly moved from social media to a N100 million defamation suit.
The short video, now viral, captured a chaotic moment when the actress known for her roles in Yoruba movies attacked Maduagwu in public as bystanders rushed in to deescalate the fracas.
While some people tried to separate the pair, others appeared to join the actress in confronting Maduagwu as he attempted to fight back.
During the altercation, the actress shouted repeatedly, saying, “You are mad,” painting a picture of deep tension between them.
The confrontation quickly drew attention from bystanders, turning the scene into a spectacle.
Earlier, Maduagwu had accused Bank Anthony of stirring trouble between top Nollywood stars Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, a claim she strongly denied.

He described her as “wicked” in a social media post, saying she was the reason Akindele snubbed Abraham at Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere.
In response, the actress gave him a 12-hour deadline to delete the statement.
Soon after, the situation took a legal turn. On April 21, Bank Anthony’s lawyers issued a formal notice demanding ₦100 million in damages over what they described as false and damaging claims.
The legal document accused Maduagwu of defamation related to comments about the alleged incident at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, hosted by Iyabo Ojo.
Her legal team demanded a public apology, a retraction, and a promise to stop making further statements, giving him seven days to comply or face court action.
Notably, just hours before the street fight, Bank Anthony had shared details of the lawsuit online, tagging Maduagwu directly. She wrote that she preferred to let her actions speak and hinted at a legal showdown.
Reactions have since been mixed. Some viewers believe the incident may be staged for publicity, especially following the actress’s recent film premiere, where she made headlines by arriving on horseback.
Others argue the clash reflects a deeper personal dispute, pointing to Maduagwu’s reputation for stirring controversy.
No official statement has been released by either party, and there are no confirmed police reports linked to the incident as at press time.
