LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Veteran Nollywood actor Don Richard has shut down widespread rumors claiming he had passed away, putting fans at ease with a direct response.

The false reports, which circulated on Thursday, April 23, alleged that the actor died after a long battle with kidney disease.

Don Richard, in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, April 24, firmly denied the claims and confirmed that he is alive and well.

In the video, the actor addressed his supporters and critics, expressing appreciation to those who checked on him while also condemning the spread of unverified news.

He prayed for God’s judgement on bloggers who post fake stories to boost engagements on their social pages.

“Am not Dead oo Am alive Pls stop spreading bad News about me. Nothing will happen to me in Jesus Name. My fans and friends I really appreciate you. You all will not fall, I dey Alive ooo, the bloggers should continue their b@d posting, God will judge them amen,” he said.

Meanwhile, the rumor spread quickly partly because the actor has been out of the public eye for some time. His reduced public outing and movie appearances led many to speculate about his health condition.

Earlier in July 2025, Don Richard had opened up about his health struggles, revealing he sold his house and cars to manage his kidney disease and even asked the public for financial help.

That situation fueled the recent false reports and caused worry within his fanbase.

Following his latest update, fans have expressed relief across social media, celebrating the news that the actor, popular for playing tough “bad guy” roles is still alive and in good spirits.
