LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian disc jockey Amaobi Udeh, popularly known as VDJ Mobi, is set for a 72-hour non-stop DJ livestream aimed at breaking a Guinness World Record to spotlight girl-child education, and menstrual health awareness.
The attempt for the longest marathon DJ concert livestream, titled Mobi’s Mixathon, will begin at 8 a.m. on April 28 and run until May 1, 2026.
Speaking on the cause, the Abuja based DJ said the project goes beyond just music. While the goal is to secure a Guinness World Record, the livestream is also designed to draw attention to issues affecting girls, especially access to education and menstrual health support.

To achieve this, VDJ Mobi is working with the FAB Treasure Foundation.
The partnership focuses on providing sanitary products and learning resources to girls, while also raising awareness about how poor menstrual hygiene can affect school attendance.
Explaining the vision, he said, “My partnership with FAB Treasure Foundation on menstrual hygiene and girl-child education is very personal to me. In our society, many girls miss school or lose confidence simply because they lack basic sanitary support or mentorship. Through this record attempt, I want to amplify this cause. Entertainment should have meaning; we aren’t just playing music, we’re ‘mixing for a cause.’ Our goal is to use the visibility of the MobiMixathon to provide resources and opportunities, ensuring that the ‘girl child’ in our communities feels seen, supported, and empowered to chase her own ‘world-record’ sized dreams.”

Meanwhile, the livestream itself will follow strict technical guidelines to allow him qualify as a record holder, if successful. Music must play continuously for 72 hours, with no repeated songs within a four-hour window.
Organizers also confirmed that the stream must maintain a steady audience and meet all verification standards.
To manage the pressure, a detailed plan has been put in place by VDJ Mobi and his team. This includes scheduled short breaks allowed under record rules, backup systems to prevent technical failure, and measures to handle power supply, heat, and fatigue.

VDJ Mobi noted that the attempt reflects his journey in the Nigerian entertainment scene since 2022, where he has built a reputation performing at weddings and corporate events. He added that this challenge is also about putting Nigerian DJs on the global map.
Furthermore, the project aims to spotlight Abuja as a growing hub for entertainment.
Organizers say a successful attempt could open doors for more large-scale creative projects, including expanding concepts like the Throwback Silent Disco Experience to other African cities.
Taking to social media, VDJ Mobi has called for support, urging Nigerians at home and abroad to follow and support the livestream.
