LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian skit maker Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, has shared the real reason she moved in with her husband, Tunji Ilori, months before their civil wedding.
In a recent interview with Toke Makinwa on her show Toke Moments, the entertainer revealed that she lived with her husband for about four months before their white wedding.
KieKie explained that at the time, they were already married in the traditional way with all rites performed and dowry paid.
Also, her rent was due to expire in September, while their white wedding was scheduled for January.

Rather than renew her lease for a short period, she chose to move in, not because of controversy but by simple practicality.
She added that she was an active member in her local church and kept that detail from spilling out.
“Before my husband and I got married, we lived together for about four months. My rent had expired, and we were getting married in January, so I said to myself, ‘Why pay another rent?’ People might judge it, but I wasn’t going to waste money. We’d already done our introduction. The church didn’t know about it, and I used to sing in church that time,” she said.
The entertainer noted that living together during that period did not significantly change her understanding of her partner.
She explained that they were both constantly busy with work and often traveling, leaving little time to fully experience cohabitation.
Kielce maintained that the arrangement felt more like a practical step than a defining moment in their relationship.
