LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigeria’s army leadership has unveiled a newly upgraded health facility in Imo State, marking a step toward better healthcare access while strengthening ties between the military and civilian communities.
On Wednesday April 22, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, inaugurated the remodeled health centre in Enugwu Okabia, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Highlighting the growing role of the Nigerian Army in community development beyond security operations, the project was facilitated by a senior officer at the National Defence College in Abuja and a native of the community, Maj.-Gen. Kelvin Ukandu.
Represented by the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Maj.-Gen. Oluremi Fadairo, Shaibu said the upgraded facility reflects ongoing efforts to promote peace and build stronger, more resilient communities. He praised Ukandu’s dedication, noting his more than 30 years of service to the country.
