LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Fast-rising Nigerian singer Qing Madi has publicly accused her former record label, JTOn Music, of trying to derail her career following the sudden removal of her new song from Spotify.
The controversy began on Tuesday, April 21, after her collaboration with Zinoleesky, titled “Pepper Me,” disappeared from the streaming platform shortly after release.
The track, which dropped on April 17, had gained over 211,000 streams within its first day before being replaced with a “not available” notice.
In response, the 19-year-old artist took to Instagram to express frustration, alleging that the move was intentional.
She claimed the label’s actions came after she left the company due to ongoing disputes over control, contracts, and independence, including a legal battle she says she won.

“My ex label the same people that tried to destroy Cynthia Morgan are trying to do same to me. It’s paining you that I didn’t give up even after suing me for 1 million dollars and losing your case,” she wrote.
Furthermore, Qing Madi accused her former management of acting out of spite.
She specifically called out ex-manager Joy Tongo, claiming the takedown followed the failed $1 million lawsuit against her.
Despite the setback, the “Ole” hitmaker reassured fans that she is working to restore the song online.
She also vowed to do everything possible to protect her music and career moving forward.
Meanwhile, JTon Music has not responded publicly to the allegations at the time of reporting.
The situation has sparked strong reactions from fans, many of whom have shown support by flooding social media with lyrics from “Pepper Me.”
