ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Professor Anugbum Onuoha has officially assumed duty as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Akwa Ibom State, marking a leadership change in the state’s electoral body.
Onuoha, a Professor of Law, takes over from Obo Efanga, who has been redeployed to Edo State to serve in the same capacity.
The transition follows a routine administrative reshuffle by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), aimed at strengthening its operations across states.

Efanga, who previously served as REC in Akwa Ibom, is not new to his new posting, having earlier held the same position in Edo State before his deployment to Akwa Ibom.
With his assumption of office, Onuoha is expected to oversee electoral activities in Akwa Ibom State, including preparations for upcoming elections and the coordination of INEC operations within the state.
The appointment comes amid ongoing efforts by INEC to ensure credible and transparent electoral processes across the country.
