ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The police on Friday, charged an 18-year-old apprentice, before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrate’s court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing N4. 2 million belonging to his master.
The apprentice, Isaac Ikechukwu, was arraigned alongside an alleged accomplice, Samson Johnson, 23.
The duo whose addresses were not stated, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Tunji Olaniyi, alleged that the defendants conspired to commit the offence between August 2025 and January, at the Agbowo area of Ibadan.
The first defendant (Ikechukwu), who served as apprentice for one Mr Onyekachi Ogbonna, was alleged to have conspired with the second defendant (Johnson), to steal the sum of N4.2 million belonging to his master.

The prosecutor alleged that the first defendant kept the stolen money with the second defendant.
He alleged that the defendants were eventually arrested by the police.
The offences contravene the provisions of sections 383, 390 (6) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State 2000.
The Magistrate, Mr M. Mudashiru, granted the defendants bails in the sum of one million naira each, with two sureties each in like sum.
The court held that one of the sureties must provide three years tax clearance certificate.
He, consequently, adjourned the case until May 28, for hearing.
