The duo whose addresses were not stated, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Tunji Olaniyi, alleged that the defendants conspired to commit the offence between August 2025 and January, at the Agbowo area of Ibadan.

The prosecutor alleged that the first defendant kept the stolen money with the second defendant.

He alleged that the defendants were eventually arrested by the police.

The offences contravene the provisions of sections 383, 390 (6) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State 2000.

The Magistrate, Mr M. Mudashiru, granted the defendants bails in the sum of one million naira each, with two sureties each in like sum.

The court held that one of the sureties must provide three years tax clearance certificate.

He, consequently, adjourned the case until May 28, for hearing.
