LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he once cheated on his wife, Chioma Adeleke, before their marriage, an action he deeply regrets and says forced him to reflect on his behavior at the time.
The “Fall” hitmaker shared that the incident happened during a difficult period in their relationship, describing it as a moment that left him deeply disappointed in himself.
Reflecting on that time, Davido did not hold back about his regret, saying, “I was most disappointed in myself when I cheated on my wife when we had a little rift back then before we got married.”
However, after the couple resolved their issues and reunited, the music star chose honesty. He revealed that he confessed his actions to Chioma and apologized, acknowledging that she deserved better.

“I thought I could have done better because She’s an amazing person, and she didn’t deserve that, I shouldn’t have done it, but I apologized,” he said.
In addition, Davido explained that the experience became a turning point for him and made him work to make things right. The “With You” crooner noted that it pushed him to grow and become a better partner.
“That was the only time I knew I really messed up, but I have fixed it and we’re married,” he admitted.
Meanwhile, their love story dates back to around 2013 when they met at Babcock University.
Over the years, their relationship has evolved through several milestones, including three wedding ceremonies, a private court wedding in March 2023, a grand traditional celebration in June 2024, and a lavish ceremony in Miami in August 2025.
Their journey has also included moments of deep tragedy.
In October 2022, the couple lost their first child, Ifeanyi Adeleke, in a drowning incident at their Banana Island home.
Nearly a year later, on October 9, 2023, they found joy again with the birth of twins in Atlanta.
