LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has opened up about his early struggles, sharing how he earned just ₦20,000 monthly while working a factory job long before rising to fame.

During a chat on Echo Room with Teddy A, the “Cashapp” hitmaker recalled working in a factory in Ikorodu, where he packaged products for a company owned by Aliko Dangote.

“I went to work in Ikorodu at Dangote’s company as of those that package indomie. I was making 20K per month,” he said.

The interviewer pressed further about whether he had other income streams at the time, but the singer made it clear he did not. He explained that it was tough living that way, but he had no choice and had to survive.

“No o, it was just that 20K o. It is all good though, it was an experience for me. It was not all good oh, if it were all good I wouldn’t go to the factory na. But it is all good. Those are things that I just remember now,” Bella Shmurda said, admitting that life was far from comfortable during that period.

Despite the hardship, the artist explained that the experience played an important role in shaping his mindset and personal growth, especially as he has achieved so much.
