LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood star Zubby Michael has taken a clear step into politics after officially becoming a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), drawing reactions from fans across Nigeria.
The actor confirmed the news on Saturday via Instagram, posting a video that showed the moment he registered with the party and received his membership at his hometown, Ozubulu in Anambra State.
In his caption, he wrote, “I dey my village enough of the talking online I don involve.”

In the video, Zubby Michael dressed in a customized shirt carrying the ADC name and his picture, appeared alongside party members. They cheered him on, celebrating the bold decision despite his celebrity status.

The comment triggered backlash, with critics calling it insensitive while questioning how such a move would be possible without government support.
Despite the earlier criticism, reactions to his new political affiliation have been mixed. Some fans have praised him for taking action, especially since the ADC includes notable figures like Peter Obi. Others see this as a sign that the actor is ready to participate directly in shaping political conversations rather than speaking from the sidelines.
The development adds a new layer to Zubby Michael’s public image, placing him among entertainers who are stepping into Nigeria’s political space.
