(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Barcelona on Thursday filed an official complaint to UEFA regarding refereeing and VAR decisions made during the 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Recall that Atletico Madrid won the Champions League quarter-final first leg encounter at Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick’s side were handed a red card for defender Pau Cubarsi, and there were several allegedly controversial decisions during the tie, particularly in the 54th minute of the encounter when Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Juan Musso passed the ball to defender Marc Pubill within their own penalty box.

After the play had been restarted correctly, Pubill picked up the ball in their area without the referee awarding a corresponding penalty.

However, the Blaugrana considers that the refereeing did not adhere to the current law, directly influencing how the game progressed and the result.
