LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- American federal prosecutors have accused rapper Lontrell Williams Jr., popularly known as Pooh Shiesty, of leading a kidnapping and armed robbery during a business meeting connected to rapper Gucci Mane and his label 1017 Records, outlining a timeline that began with a planned deal discussion and ended in violence.
The case centers on a dispute connected to a contract deal with the label.
According to the US Attorney’s Office in Dallas, the incident dates back to January 10, when three individuals traveled to Texas believing they were attending a legitimate meeting to discuss contract terms with 1017 Records, the label owned by Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Delantic Davis.
However, authorities say the situation quickly shifted once everyone gathered at a recording studio.
What started as a business discussion allegedly turned into a coordinated violent confrontation.

“The victims in this case came to Dallas to conduct legitimate business and they were met with firearms and violence,” said Ryan Raybould.
Investigators allege that during the meeting with Gucci Mane, Pooh Shiesty presented documents to terminate his contract from the label and demanded they be signed.
When Gucci Mane disagreed, prosecutors claim he escalated the situation by pulling out what appeared to be an AK-style firearm to force compliance.
At the same time, other members of the group allegedly used weapons to restrain the remaining victims. One person was reportedly choked to the point of nearly losing consciousness, while valuables including jewelry and cash were taken.
Authorities from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), say the attack was not random but planned, describing Pooh Shiesty as the “ringleader” of the operation.
Evidence cited in the case includes surveillance footage, mobile phone records, and electronic monitoring data.
The timeline also reveals that at the time of the alleged robbery, Pooh Shiesty was already on home confinement tied to a previous firearms conviction, raising further legal concerns.
In the latest development, eight of the nine accused individuals were arrested on Wednesday, as federal prosecutors move forward with charges connected to robbery and kidnapping.
