ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has debunked a circulating press release alleging that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination has been postponed, describing the information as false and malicious.
In a statement released on Saturday, the board advised candidates to ignore the misleading notice.
“Our attention has been drawn to the malicious press release stating that the 2026 UTME has been postponed. The general public, particularly the candidates, are by this notice informed that the press release is fake and did not emanate from us. Kindly disregard it. All activities on the 2026 UTME continue as scheduled,” it read.

JAMB had earlier announced that the main 2026 UTME would take place from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The clarification comes after the 2026 UTME Mock examination held on Saturday, March 28, which experienced technical issues at several Computer-Based Test centres.
Out of the 224,597 candidates who registered for the mock examination, 152,586 successfully participated across 989 CBT centres nationwide.
“Over 20 CBT centres that experienced technical challenges have been delisted due to technical inadequacies,” JAMB added.
Candidates were also warned to beware of fraudsters on WhatsApp claiming they could manipulate scores.
“Such claims are false and criminal. Any candidate found engaging in these activities risks cancellation of registration or withholding of results,” the board warned.
