LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Priscilla Ojo has stepped forward to defend her mother, acclaimed actress Iyabo Ojo, amid mounting criticism, insisting that her upcoming film ‘The Return of Arinzo’ will succeed despite attempts to derail its release.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, Priscilla Ojo addressed the controversies surrounding her mother, asserting that Iyabo Ojo is often misunderstood and unfairly blamed. According to her, critics had one goal in mind, to derail her success.

“Always misunderstood, always blamed!! Even when she’s not the one in the mix. Since Arinzo’s announcement, can’t you see the pattern? A lot of drama back-to-back, just for one aim: ruin her plans, but God’s stronger than man. And this movie will sell in Jesus’ name!” Priscilla wrote.

She argued that critics consistently twist her mother’s words, whether she speaks out or chooses silence. Transitioning to the film’s prospects, she expressed confidence in the success of the soon-to-be released movie, citing the strong turnout at the premiere as evidence of public support and recognition of her mother’s integrity.

“When she’s quiet, they twist the story. When she speaks the truth, they get angry and still twist the story. All in all, a good heart will always win. The Return of Arinzo is already a masterpiece, and no matter how they gather, if the gathering isn’t of God, they’ll fail. Didn’t you see the magnitude of people who showed up for the movie premiere?” she asked.

Priscilla highlighted the ongoing pattern of attacks, pointing out that her mother often faces backlash for advocating for others, yet receives little support when fighting her own battles.

“If she were a bad person, do you think people would show up and support her? Exactly, that shows how she shows up and supports people. Lastly, if you look at everything clearly, you’ll see that most of the time she gets dragged is because she’s always fighting people’s battles offline + online, but when it’s time for them to fight for her, what happens is they go mute. Hmmm life,” she added.

Reaffirming her unwavering support, Priscilla called on her mother to stay true to herself while assuring fans that the truth will eventually prevail. She urged followers to rally behind Iyabo Ojo on April 3, the official release date of ‘The Return of Arinzo’.

“Iyaboojofespris, your fans and JPS love you! Never change who you are, tho, and continue being you. I guess that’s why God keeps blessing you. Truth will reveal itself eventually, and as for Arinzo!! It will sell! April 3rd, we are coming out in full force! No distractions,” she concluded.
