LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Popular nightlife figure Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, stunned guests and fans with a rare low-key appearance at Iyabo Ojo’s film premiere, unveiling a different persona he says is rooted in faith.
Known for spectacle and controversy, the socialite arrived alone and dressed in a very simple outfit, an unusual move that quickly caught the attention of guests and fans online.
In contrast to his signature grand entrances, often featuring elaborate costumes, themed displays, and large entourages, this appearance at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo leaned heavily into simplicity.

Known for his theatrical culture, his interviewer at the event asked about the noticeable change. Calmly, Pretty Mike offered a short but revealing response.
“It’s God,” he said.
His answer immediately sparked curiosity, prompting further questions about whether the transformation was spiritual. Without hesitation, he confirmed the change as one rooted in spirituality.
“Yes, I am born again,” he replied.

Furthermore, the socialite explained that his appearance at the event was intentional and personal. He disclosed that it marked his first public outing in some time, adding that he chose to attend in support of Iyabo Ojo, whom he described as family. His presence, he noted, stemmed from loyalty and admiration for her latest project.
Notably, this moment comes months after his run-in with authorities in October 2025, when officials from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested him following a raid on his nightclub, Proxy, over allegations tied to illicit substances.
Although he was granted bail in November and the club eventually resumed operations, Pretty Mike retreated from public life, maintaining a low profile ever since.
The unexpected reemergence now hints at reinvention. His brief words and calm demeanor point to a deliberate effort to redefine his image. Still, online observers and fans argue if this change is temporary or permanent.
