LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Four years after revealing a life-altering diagnosis and staying off live performance, global music icon Céline Dion is officially ready to reclaim the stage, announcing a comeback to the delight of millions of fans from across the world.
In honor of her 58th birthday on March 30, the legendary Canadian vocalist confirmed a 10-night residency at the Paris La Défense Arena, with shows scheduled between September 12 and October 14, 2026.
Sharing the news via Instagram, Dion described the moment as “the best gift of my life,” signaling both personal triumph and artistic rebirth.
“I’m so ready to do this. I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously and of course, a little nervous,” she told fans.
The ‘Power of Love’ hitmaker stayed off stage after she was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition, Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) in 2022.

The incurable condition disrupts communication between nerves and muscles, often causing severe spasms and mobility challenges.
At the time, the singer revealed the illness had affected “every aspect” of her daily life, ultimately forcing her to cancel her Courage world tour and step away from performing.
Her last full concert dates back to March 8, 2020, in Newark, New Jersey, before the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent health struggles halted her momentum.
Nevertheless, her determination never waned. In a previous interview, Dion said, “I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul… Five days a week I undergo athletic, physical and vocal therapy,” reflecting on her recovery journey.
In 2024, Dion made a surprise appearance at the 66th Grammy Awards, her first public outing since her diagnosis.
She later delivered a powerful performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, singing Hymne à l’Amour from the Eiffel Tower, an emotional milestone that hinted at her gradual return.
Meanwhile, the singer credited her global fanbase for sustaining her through the darkest periods of her illness.
“But I have to tell you something very important: Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. You have helped me in ways that I cannot describe. I’m truly so fortunate to have your support. I have missed you so much. I’m singing again, and even doing a little bit of dancing,” she said.

Excitement has already swept through the French capital.
In the days leading up to the announcement, cryptic posters featuring Dion’s lyrics surfaced across Paris, while the Eiffel Tower illuminated the message “Paris, je suis prête” (“Paris, I am ready”), accompanied by classics like My Heart Will Go On and I’m Alive.
Each concert date has been spaced out deliberately to support her health and endurance on stage.
Tickets are set to go on sale on April 7, with demand expected to soar as fans worldwide prepare to witness one of music’s most anticipated comebacks.
