ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Nigeria Customs Service has warned the public about false information currently being circulated on social media, noting that the claims are not authentic and did not come from the agency.
In a statement posted on its X handle on Monday, the NCS advised Nigerians to disregard the misleading reports and depend only on information shared through its official communication platforms.
“Members of the public are advised to disregard this fake message and rely on updates published through our verified platforms,” the statement said.

The Service stressed that its official channels remain the most dependable sources for accurate updates on its activities, policies, and announcements.
It also cautioned that spreading unverified information can lead to confusion, fuel misinformation, and erode public trust, urging Nigerians to confirm news before sharing it.
For reliable and timely updates, the public is encouraged to follow the NCS’s verified social media accounts and official website.
The agency regularly releases statements to counter false information circulating online.
