LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, has been spotted in the holy city of Mecca participating in Islamic pilgrimage rites, with a viral video capturing the Afrobeats star attempting to touch the revered Black Stone embedded in the Kaaba.
The “Mr Money” crooner, appeared in the circulating footage dressed in a traditional ihram, the simple white garments worn by Muslim pilgrims during Hajj or Umrah to symbolise purity, humility, and equality before God.
In the clip, the singer is seen navigating the tightly packed crowd gathered near the eastern corner of the Kaaba where the sacred stone is located.
The Black Stone holds deep spiritual significance for Muslims, who believe it dates back to the time of Prophet Ibrahim and regard touching or gesturing toward it during pilgrimage as a cherished act of devotion.

However, reaching the stone proved difficult for the artist.
Determined to get closer, enthusiastic fans in the crowd attempted to help by lifting him onto their shoulders in a bid to move him nearer to the religious relic.
Despite the effort, the dense push of worshippers surrounding the site made it impossible for him to reach the stone.
The moment quickly gained traction across social media, with many viewers noting that even prominent figures often struggle to approach the sacred point because of the heavy flow of pilgrims throughout the year.
Nevertheless, the singer continued with the pilgrimage rituals, including the Tawaf, a central rite of Islamic pilgrimage in which believers circle the Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction.
The act symbolizes total submission to Allah and reflects a spiritual journey from the lowest stage of the soul toward higher levels of faith.
