LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- It was gathered in the early hours of the morning that Nigerian comedian Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggy, was hospitalized after allegedly sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
According to an exclusive report first published by Punch Metro, credible details about how the shooting occurred remain unclear.
The incident reportedly happened on Sunday afternoon beneath the Sango-Ota bridge, where the entertainer had been filming a comedy skit alongside members of his production crew.
“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity explained, saying that Shaggi got shot while the content creator was actively shooting a scene at the location.
Luckily, members of his team quickly intervened to get him medical help.
Following the incident, the entertainer was immediately taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos, where medical personnel reportedly administered first aid upon his arrival.

Further findings cited by Punch Metro revealed that he was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police were alerted after the injured entertainer was brought to the medical facility.
“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilized to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy,” Adebisi said.

Giving details on the health condition of the skit maker, she added, “He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing.”
However, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the alleged shooting had not been formally reported to the police in the state.
“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” he said.
Broda Shaggi’s management are yet to give a report on the incident and the skit maker’s condition. This development has sparked concern among fans online, with many sending prayers, showing their support, and hoping for the quick recovery of their beloved “Oya Hit Me” crooner.
