Rihanna Flees Los Angeles After Suspect Says Singer “Wants Her Dead”

LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Global superstar Rihanna swiftly fled Los Angeles on Monday following a terrifying shooting outside her mansion that put her and her three children in potential danger, with authorities linking the incident to a suspect whose social media posts contained wild accusations against the singer.

Photographs circulating online captured the singer’s hurried departure, with luggage loaded into vehicles and driven to Van Nuys Airport before her private jet took off, highlighting the urgency following the scary Sunday night incident.

The alleged shooter, 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, faces attempted murder charges after authorities say she fired multiple rounds at Rihanna’s home from her car while the singer was inside with her three young children, ages 3, 2, and 6 months. Her bail has been set at $10,225,000.

The chilling highlight of this case is the suspect’s apparent fixation on Rihanna. Ortiz’s resurfaced videos and social media posts reveal repeated accusations against the singer, claiming that Rihanna is “jealous” of her and “steals” her thoughts. In old videos, Ortiz alleged that Rihanna wants her “dead.”

In a Facebook post shortly before the shooting, Ortiz wrote, “Are you there? Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you’re talking to me where I’m not at.”

Authorities confirmed Ortiz, armed with an AR-15-style rifle, fired at the mansion, with shell casings recovered at the scene. Officers also recovered a 30-round magazine, a violation under California law restricting large-capacity ammunition.

Despite the frightening attack, no one was injured. Still, celebrity gossip and entertainment column, Page Six reported that Rihanna is “freaking out” over the incident, visibly capturing the immediate danger and psychological toll on the superstar and her family.

Ortiz’s history raises further concern. She was previously involuntarily committed under the Florida Baker Act and lost custody of her then-10-year-old child.

Records also show arrests in 2023 for domestic violence and related violations in Florida.

Her social media posts, however, suggest a disturbing focus on celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Cardi B, though Rihanna was the primary target of her attention.

Authorities continue to investigate the motive, while the suspect remains in custody.
