LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared a candid look into her decades-long marriage to Matthew Ekeinde, revealing that in over 30 years she has never had to fight over another woman and that divorce is simply not part of her life plan.

The actress attributes their strong bond to trust, respect, and her husband’s selfless nature.

“Divorce isn’t an option for me. It doesn’t mean it isn’t an option for you. I am not against divorce. I just always believe that marriage is a very personal thing. My marriage can never be the same thing as your marriage,” she said during a recent interview.

Omotola highlighted that no two marriages are alike because personalities and circumstances differ. However, she praised her husband for allowing her the freedom to pursue her career without interference.

“My husband is a very selfless person; he has no ego. I’ve been married to him for over 30 years, and we have never fought over a girl. So, I don’t have those kinds of problems. He doesn’t disturb me. If I have to go do my work, he trusts me totally, and I trust him. So, our indices might not be the same as yours,” she explained.

The couple married in 1996 and share four children, often giving fans glimpses of their family life through shared moments on social media. Despite their busy careers, Omotola and Matthew continue to celebrate milestones together, from anniversaries to family vacations, reflecting a bond built on trust, mutual respect, and shared experiences.
