He explained that the College would continue to use established standard-setting methods in its examinations in line with global best practices.
According to him, the institution has developed a quality assurance assessment checklist designed to monitor examination processes across faculties.
The system, he noted, will provide objective feedback on compliance with approved assessment methods while helping faculties improve the management of their examinations.
To encourage adherence to these standards, Ikefuna announced the introduction of the Dr. Christopher Ekundayo Famewo Quality Assurance Prize, which will be awarded annually to the faculty that demonstrates the highest level of compliance with the College’s quality assurance guidelines.
The prize is named after Dr. Christopher Ekundayo Famewo, the ninth President of the College, who died six days after assuming office on January 1, 1998 while serving the institution.
Ikefuna disclosed that the award will carry a ₦500,000 cash prize alongside a commemorative trophy.
He added that the maiden edition of the award will be presented during the 2026 convocation ceremony of the College.
