LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely recognized as Baba Ijesha, has spoken publicly for the first time since leaving prison, alleging that he was betrayed by someone he once trusted.
The actor made the claims in a newly circulating music video where he recounts events surrounding the case that led to his incarceration. Three months after regaining freedom, Baba Ijesha used the video to share his version of the incident linked to accusations brought by colleague and comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.
The controversy dates back to 2021 when Princess accused the actor of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter at her residence. Following the allegations and subsequent legal proceedings, the Nollywood figure completed a five-year sentence at a Lagos State correctional facility and was released in November 2025.
Now addressing the situation publicly, Baba Ijesha insists he was set up. In the music video, the actor narrates how what he believed was a friendly invitation led to his arrest and imprisonment.
“My trust was betrayed, I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. She asked them to silence me, so that my voice must not be heard. This is how it happened. Please listen to my own side of the story,” he said.

According to his account, the events began on April 21, 2021, when Princess allegedly invited him to her home inset the guise of a hearty meal.
“The incident happened on April 21, 2021. Princess she devil who was my friend called me that she’s preparing my favorite food, pounded yam, egusi soup with bush meat. That was how I got captured, the world is wicked,” he stated.
He further claimed that the invitation included talk of a potential acting opportunity, singing, “She told me about a job before that day but she said she doesn’t want me to play my usual role in the movie, she wants me to act as a young guy because she wants to take me to another level but I never knew it was Kirikiri and Panti prison.”
Continuing his narration, the actor described arriving at the house and meeting several individuals who he believed were part of a film production. The actor also expressed deep disappointment over what he described as betrayal by close associates.
“When I got to her house, I met some people at her house. While still waiting for her to finish cooking, I started rehearsing according to what the alleged director told me, not knowing it was a lie, there’s no movie anywhere, it was all set up. The main offender is walking freely while they want an innocent man to be killed. That’s how I got to Kirikiri,” Baba Ijesha explained.
Ending his message with a warning to supporters, Baba Ijesha urged the public to be cautious about whom they trust, warning that people are more dangerous than “venomous snakes.”
“Please my fans be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. Flee from them because the world is evil, and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes,” the actor advised.
