ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday swore in Olatunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
The brief but significant ceremony took place shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting and was attended by top government officials, ministers and family members of the appointees.

In addition to administering the oath of office to Disu, the President also swore in six commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission and two commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack, were among dignitaries present.
Most members of the Federal Executive Council were also in attendance as proceedings transitioned directly into the Council’s meeting.

Disu’s swearing-in formalises his appointment as the nation’s police chief at a time of heightened security concerns and ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
