LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian hairstyling sensation Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro, popularly known as T-Jos Signature, has officially etched his name into the Guinness World Records after completing a staggering 72-hour professional barbering marathon.Â
The historic feat, achieved in Nasarawa State on January 29, 2026, saw the celebrity barber remain on his feet for three consecutive days, surpassing all previous benchmarks of human endurance in the grooming industry.
This triumph follows an earlier, unsuccessful attempt that failed to meet the organization’s stringent criteria, marking a powerful story of professional redemption.
The road to the global stage was paved with discipline and a refusal to surrender to past setbacks.

Growing up in the bustling streets of Lagos, Aiyenuro faced significant adversity but channeled his energy into mastering his craft, eventually becoming the official barber for Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles.
Reflecting on his journey from a small-scale businessman to a world-beater, he noted that his initial failure served as a turning point.
“We’re creating pathways to prosperity, one cut at a time,” he stated, emphasizing that the record is a symbol of resilience rather than just a personal accolade.
Transitioning from a solo achiever to a social reformer, Aiyenuro has launched the “Barbing City” initiative, a nationwide project aimed at tackling youth unemployment.
His vision involves establishing integrated grooming hubs in every Nigerian state, with the goal of empowering over 2,000 youths per region through technical training and entrepreneurship.
Aiyenuro joins the ranks of fellow Nigerian record-breaker Hilda Baci in using a global platform to drive domestic growth.
“Our goal is to empower these young minds to drive Nigeria’s growth and become a force for positive change,” he added.

Beyond the 72 hours of continuous styling, the “Barbing City” model is designed to be a scalable solution for character development and financial self-reliance.
By giving the trade a gold standard, Aiyenuro aims to provide young Nigerians with a dignified means of income, steering them away from social vices.
Notably, the initiative is set to expand from its Nasarawa roots to the 36 states of the federation before making an international debut in major global cities.
The legacy of this 72-hour marathon now rests on the success of the thousands of young entrepreneurs Aiyenuro hopes to inspire through his “Barbing City” movement.
