ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has paid a solidarity visit to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following an alleged failed attempt to arrest him at an airport upon his return to the country.
El-Rufai, who is described as a stalwart of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was reportedly the subject of an arrest attempt that did not materialise.
Atiku disclosed the visit on his Facebook page on Friday, stating that he met with the former governor to express solidarity.
“Last night, I paid a solidarity visit to the former Governor of Kaduna State and stalwart of the African Democratic Congress, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, following the failed attempt to arrest him at the airport upon his arrival in the country,” Atiku wrote.
He added that El-Rufai appeared undeterred by the incident and remained committed to his political vision.

According to Atiku, the former governor was “unfazed by the incident and remains committed to the battle to enthrone a better Nigeria.”
Details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged arrest attempt were not immediately available at the time of filing this report.
