LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian Afrobeats pioneer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has broken his silence on the persistent stereotypes surrounding his private life, categorically denying claims that he is a “womanizer.”

In an intimate sit-down with Voice of Nigeria (VON), the “African Queen” singer peeled back the layers of his heavily scrutinized public persona. He redefined his personality as that of a dedicated “lover boy” who simply values honesty.

“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womanizer. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” 2Baba clarified.

Beyond the headlines of his romantic history, the award-winning artiste opened up about the emotional toll of raising eight children while navigating global stardom. He admitted that his greatest personal struggle isn’t the fame itself, but the lack of collective time spent with his children.

“I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he confessed.

The award winning musician described his children as “amazing, brilliant people” who inspire him daily.

2Baba also addressed recent social media narratives concerning his wife, Natasha Osawaru, specifically dismissing rumors that she exerts “controlling” influence over his career. Defending her character against “nasty” online commentary, 2Baba described his partner as a “brilliant” and “strong” woman who provides a necessary anchor in his life.

He noted that while he has developed “thick skin” over decades in the limelight, the constant public intrusion into his marriage still occasionally hits a nerve. The singer explained that he is naturally a “very shy person” who craves solitude and nature despite his high-energy profession.

2Baba admitted that his career often forces him to mask this reserved nature, though he frequently retreats to quiet moments to “just be alone and chill” away from the roaring crowds.
