LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Nigerian creative community is in deep mourning following the preventable death of Lucky Elohor, whose passing has ignited a fierce online debate over the country’s decaying infrastructure.
The visionary business coach is famously known as the founder of Digital Creator Chic and The GROW Network, a youth-focused organization that helps young Africans execute, grow, and thrive in life, business, and career.
Sadly, on Wednesday, February 11, friends and family confirmed the heartbreaking news via Instagram, sharing a serene memorial image of the young woman against a heavenly backdrop with the poignant caption, “Gone to be with the Lord.”

Her death, occurring during a desperate medical transfer from Kwara State to Oyo State, has become a symbol of the lethal systemic failures plaguing the nation’s healthcare and emergency response sectors.
The tragedy began when a massive pothole caused a horrific car accident in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. According to close friends, the situation was immediately compounded by a total lack of emergency services, as bystanders reportedly filmed the victims instead of providing aid.
Popular Instagram influencer Triciabiz shared a harrowing timeline of the events, detailing how the city’s medical infrastructure failed at every turn. “No emergency service, no one to move them quickly to hospital instead they are recording them,” she wrote, highlighting a disturbing trend of digital surveillance over human empathy.

Further complications arose when the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital and other public facilities were found to be hampered by ongoing strikes, forcing a move to poorly equipped private clinics. The most shocking revelation surfaced when it was discovered that the entire city of Ilorin lacked a single functional MRI machine at the time of the accident.
This forced a critical, life-threatening transfer to Ogbomoso in Oyo State for essential medical imaging, a journey Lucky Elohor sadly did not survive. Triciabiz lamented the geographical death trap, stating, “No freaking functional MRI in the entire city of Ilorin. Nearest is Ogbomosho. My girl didn’t make it back from that trip.”

Public outrage on X has since reached a fever pitch, with Nigerians calling out the government for the death traps that serve as federal roads. The narrative of Nigeria with its own agenda has resonated with with many who feel that basic survival in the country has become a matter of luck rather than a right.
Friends describe Elohor as a vibrant soul whose life was cut short not just by an accident, but by a “failed state” that could not provide an ambulance or a scanner in a state capital.
Final burial arrangements are currently being discussed by the family as they grapple with a loss that many believe could have been avoided with a functioning National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) framework.
Friends, mentees and followers have since flooded her digital platforms with tributes, united in shared grief for a life whose light was abruptly extinguished.
