LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Damilola Basirat Ayinde Marshal, the high-profile daughter of Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (Kwam 1), has moved swiftly to end viral speculation surrounding a potential romance with Afrobeats superstar Asake.
The celebrity lawyer, who currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Tourism, Arts & Culture, became the subject of intense online scrutiny after sharing an intimate snap with the “Lonely at the Top” singer alongside the provocative caption, “Mr Money and Mrs Money.”

The gist spread like wildfire almost immediately, leading many to believe a new industry power couple had emerged. However, Miss Marshal took to her official Instagram page to clarify that the photograph was merely a memento from their very first encounter.

Directly addressing the “Mrs Money” label, she cautioned her followers against falling for sensationalized narratives designed for engagement.
“Guys, that was my first time meeting him [Asake], so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote, effectively shutting down the claims.

This clarification comes at a time when Asake’s private life remains a topic of high interest, especially since his publicized split from Gambian girlfriend Madame Mystique in 2024. While the singer has remained relatively quiet regarding his relationship status, Dami’s professional standing in the Lagos State Government makes her a frequent figure at A-list events where such cross-industry interactions are common.
Despite the buzz with the “Mrs Money” imagery, the governor’s aide remains focused on her official duties.
