ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Federal Government has announced plans to convene the National Economic Council (NEC) Conference, which will be chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The summit is expected to explore ways to strengthen economic coordination and advance inclusive growth across Nigeria’s 36 states.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Sunday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President).
The conference will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa and is being organised by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu. Governors from all states, alongside key national stakeholders, development partners and private-sector leaders, are expected to participate.

With the theme “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” the two-day summit will centre on macroeconomic priorities, fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation and collaborative development strategies between the federal and state governments.
According to Dr Deborah Oko Odo, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Secretary of the NEC, the conference seeks to “encourage economic growth and development across the country” while offering policy direction in line with the Federal Government’s long-term economic agenda.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will attend as Special Guest of Honour at the conference, which is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The NEC Conference is expected to yield practical strategies aimed at accelerating sustainable development and inclusive economic growth nationwide.
