LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Social media critic VeryDarkMan has stepped into the growing controversy surrounding actress Mercy Johnson following the arrest of TikTok content creator Eedie Bliss, accusing the actress of double standards and misuse of law enforcement.
The debate traces back to unverified rumours that circulated online in December 2025, alleging that Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Henry Okojie, had an affair that resulted in a pregnancy and the purchase of a mansion for the woman involved.
The claims gained further traction after Eedie Bliss discussed the gossip in a video, citing blogger Cutie Juls as her source.
In the video, the content creator went further by alleging that Mercy Johnson was complicit in a scheme involving the alleged mistress house help, which supposedly led to a miscarriage. The accusations, however, were never confirmed.
Following the video’s spread, Eedie Bliss was reportedly arrested and detained in Abuja after Prince Henry Okojie filed a petition.

The arrest quickly ignited backlash online, with critics questioning why action was taken against the TikToker rather than the original source she referenced.
The situation drew the attention of VeryDarkMan, who publicly condemned the detention and directly called out Mercy Johnson.
He argued that defamation is a civil matter and accused the actress of selective outrage, referencing a previous case involving Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy.
According to VeryDarkMan, Mercy Johnson had earlier described Sammy’s arrest as unlawful when he was detained over similar allegations by her colleague’s husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. He insisted that the actress cannot oppose police involvement in one defamation case while supporting it in another.
“Dear Mercy Johnson, you can’t fight for the release of Sammy when Ned arrested him over defamation/ETC then later turn around to do the same thing with your husband all in the name of defamation. If you and your husband feel defamed by that girl’s post, please sue her to court. And stop using the police to oppress people,” he said.
VeryDarkMan further revealed that Eedie Bliss is scheduled to get married this Saturday, adding urgency to his demand for her release. He warned that his legal team would step in if she is not freed promptly.
“To think of it, this girl’s case is different because she stated her source as CutieJuls blog. Release her and go to court. I heard her wedding is this Saturday,” he added.
