The singer was ordered into custody on Monday, January 12, 2026, after appearing before a Federal High Court in Ogun State over a nine-count criminal charge.
The court declined his request for bail after the alleged victim, a police officer, failed to appear before the judge.
The matter was subsequently adjourned, with a bail hearing scheduled for January 19, 2026.

In a parallel development away from the courtroom, Portable’s first wife, Omobewaji, gave birth to a baby while the musician remains in detention. The delivery reportedly occurred just days after his remand, marking a significant personal moment amid mounting legal pressure.
Sources familiar with the situation disclosed that the singer has since been informed of the birth while in prison.
He was said to be elated by the news and is reportedly hopeful that his upcoming bail hearing will allow him the chance to meet his child in person.
The legal trouble traces back to a domestic altercation involving his fourth baby mama, Ashabi Simple, which allegedly escalated into an assault on a police officer.
