LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has sparked lively debate online after issuing a blunt warning to parents about how they show affection to their children.

The outspoken star urged families to stop kissing children on the mouth, calling the habit unsafe and unnecessary.

The actress shared her thoughts via Instagram Stories, where she questioned why some parents bypass a simple cheek kiss in favor of mouth-to-mouth contact. According to Okorie, the practice could expose children to avoidable infections, a concern she believes is often overlooked in the name of affection.

Driving home her point, she did not mince words.

“Stop kissing your kid’s mouth to mouth! Haaa. What happened to the cheek, Kwanu? They are kids; they don’t need your infected mouth, please. Kiss them on the cheek,” she wrote.

She extended her criticism beyond parents and children, expressing shock at adults who also engage in mouth-to-mouth kissing with their own parents.

“People will kiss their mother’s mouth to mouth. Kiss your father’s mouth to mouth. ‘Wetin happened to cheek’? Oh Jesus. Una dey vex me for this app. Abi, am I old-fashioned? Why mouth-to-mouth kwanu?” Okorie added.

Meanwhile, her remarks have divided social media users, with some applauding her for speaking openly about hygiene and boundaries, while others dismissed the comments as overly dramatic or culturally insensitive.
