LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has broken his silence after a viral video featuring his son, Michael, and controversial relationship therapist Jaruma sparked widespread reactions online, prompting the actor to publicly distance himself from the content and issue a stern warning.
In a strongly worded Instagram post, Ike expressed outrage over what he described as the unauthorised use of his name and image in what he called “disgusting” and indecent material.
The actor made it clear that he has no affiliation with Jaruma or her brand and said his reputation was being dragged into a narrative he does not endorse.
“JARUMA! JARUMA!! JARUMA!!! what the hell is this? What’s my name and picture got to do with this disgusting videos?” Ike wrote.
The actor warned Jaruma to immediately remove all content linking him to the viral video, hinting that legal consequences could follow if his demand is ignored.
“If you know what’s good for you, remove my name and picture from all your rubbish contents of indecent posts immediately. I have nothing to do with your products and I dissociate myself from your brand,” he said, adding that his legal team was already reviewing the situation.

Beyond the public warning, Ike’s post took on a deeply personal tone as he addressed his son directly, recounting the sacrifices and plans he once had for Michael’s future. He revealed that he had envisioned a structured path for his first son, including completing his education and building a life for himself abroad.
“Michael, I sent you to the university, and your mother pulled you out… I was firm on you finishing school first, like I did before I became an actor,” he wrote.
Ike lamented what he described as a series of poor choices, questioning how his son’s ambitions as an influencer, singer, and actor had led to the current controversy.
“Is this it? Is this how to go about it?” he asked, expressing disappointment over Michael’s association with Jaruma.
The veteran actor who described himself as a “decent man” also stressed that his objection was rooted in protecting a reputation he said took blood and sweat to build.
“I am a decent man and the world knows this. I worked hard for that name. Stop messing with the huge E.I brand,” he wrote.
In a mix of frustration and concern, Ike accused those around his son of negatively influencing him and called for reflection and rehabilitation, insisting that this was not the future he had envisioned.
Despite the harsh tone, the post ended on a note of reluctant hope, with the actor saying he continues to pray for his son to regain focus and direction.
“I pray you come back to your senses soon. I am praying for you,” Emeka Ike wrote.
