LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- The long-running paternity controversy involving Afrobeats superstar Davido has taken a dramatic new turn after Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, resurfaced with fresh claims that challenge the singer’s long-held DNA narrative.
For years, Davido and Labinjoh have been locked in a public war of words over Anu’s paternity. The singer has repeatedly maintained that multiple DNA tests cleared him of any biological link, insisting that as many as five separate results returned negative.
However, that claim is now being openly disputed with receipts.

In a recent Instagram post, Labinjoh shared what she described as the only authentic DNA test conducted in the case, directly contradicting Davido’s version of events. She insisted the result was valid and accused the singer of failing to present evidence supporting his multiple-test claim.
“The ONLY DNA 🧬 TEST Fake‼️ No swab, just bl00d 🩸 Not 2, Not 5. We still haven’t seen David post today online and in newspapers,” she wrote.
Her renewed stance has been amplified by investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, who has consistently defended Anu and questioned the transparency of the testing process.
Meanwhile, Davido has shifted focus to the role his family played during the dispute, revealing that the push for DNA testing came from his father, billionaire businessman Dr. Adedeji Adeleke.
In a post on X, the singer said the decision was non-negotiable as his father who loves children made him take the test.

“You guys don’t know my father.. He’s even the one that forced me to go. Adeleke’s we don’t play about Blood on this side,” he wrote.
The controversy widened further after media personality and social commentator Daddy Freeze weighed in, stating that the DNA result circulating online indicates Davido is not Anu’s father.
Labinjoh responded swiftly, firing back through her daughter’s Instagram account and accusing the Adeleke family of manipulating facts and leveraging influence to control public perception.
“@daddyfreeze we will request another test because the only on DNA test was altered September 2014. There was no DNA swab. They took Anu’s blood and Davido’s blood was drawn separately in a room we were not allowed to enter… There is no record of 5 DNA tests anywhere,” she wrote.
She further alleged that Dr. Adeleke personally selected and paid for the laboratory, disputing claims that she influenced the testing process.
“Dr Adeleke picked the hospital lab and paid for it. It is not ours… Last year they said it was two. Today it’s 5. Stop using the power of influencing to brainwash Nigerians to believe lies,” she added.
Despite the ongoing public battle, attention has also turned to Anu herself, who appears to be thriving away from the controversy. Recently celebrating her 11th birthday, she shared personal milestones, including her interest in singing, reading, and modeling, as well as her latest appointment as Head Girl of her school.
Fans and industry observers are closely watching to see how the dispute unfolds for both the Labinjoh and Adeleke families.
