Before kickoff, the Afrobeats superstar shared a betting slip showing a $50,000 wager on Nigeria reaching the AFCON final. The post quickly drew attention, with fans reacting to both the size of the stake and the singer’s unwavering belief in the team.
“Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip…. 💰 #stake,” Davido writes.
The bet, placed on betting platform Stake, combined multiple outcomes, including Nigeria qualifying for the final and both teams scoring, at odds of 6.97. While the slip promised a massive payout if successful, the Super Eagles semi-final clash with Morocco unfolded differently.

After 90 minutes of goalless football, the match headed into penalties, where Morocco prevailed 4–2, ending Nigeria’s AFCON campaign and effectively nullifying Davido’s prediction tied to regulation-time outcomes.
Despite the loss, the DMW Records boss remains one of the Super Eagles most visible celebrity supporters. Earlier in the tournament, Davido celebrated a successful wager after correctly predicting that both teams would score in Nigeria’s Group C opener against Tanzania, reportedly earning a substantial payout from that bet.
