LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Popular Nigerian comedian DeeOne has urged the Federal Government to launch a sweeping investigation into the financial activities of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating across the country.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the outspoken entertainer shone the spotlight on what he described as disturbing and unlawful practices allegedly linked to some NGOs.
Speaking directly to authorities, DeeOne warned that organizations originally set up for humanitarian purposes may now be serving as cover for serious criminal activities.
According to him, certain NGOs are no longer focused on social impact and humanitarian aid but are instead being exploited to launder, fund terrorism, kidnapping, human trafficking, and other violent crimes threatening national security.

“Federal government of Nigeria, please investigate all the NGOs accounts in the country. A lot of them are being used to sponsor terrorism, for kidnappers, child trafficking sponsorship, a lot of them are being used for human harvesting sponsorship,” he said.
Shifting focus to accountability and transparency, DeeOne questioned the rapid rise in wealth among some NGO founders, suggesting that abuse of goodwill and public sympathy has become widespread. While acknowledging that financial success is not inherently wrong, he insisted it must never come at the cost of human lives.
“Please do a thorough investigation on all these NGO accounts. In Nigeria today, if somebody should rescue somebody, the next thing the people will open an NGO, and the next thing they become a multi millionaire. We’re not saying you should not make money, but it has to be legit not at the expense of people’s lives,” he added.
The video quickly gained traction online, fueling renewed calls for stronger regulation and transparency within the nonprofit sector.
