In a statement shared on the NYSC’s official X handle on Tuesday, the scheme stated that “Camp Registration for all Corps Members will take place from Wednesday, 21st to midnight of Friday 23rd, January, 2026.

“The Swearing-in Ceremony holds on Friday, 23rd January, 2026, while the Closing Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 10th February, 2026.”

The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished prospective Corps Members a safe journey to their various states of deployment and cautioned them against travelling at night.

NYSC management also called on all Corps Members to strictly comply with the orientation timetable to guarantee a hitch-free and successful programme.

The NYSC scheme, created in 1973 to strengthen national unity and integration after the Nigerian Civil War, mandates the three-week orientation camp as its introductory phase.

During the camp, Corps Members participate in paramilitary drills, skills acquisition training under the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, lectures on national issues, and cultural activities.

The programme is designed to promote interaction and foster unity across ethnic and religious divides.
