ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-More than 20,000 applicants are taking part in the Nigerian Air Force Zonal General Aptitude Test for the 2025 Basic Military Training Course 46 recruitment exercise.
The test is being held at 15 approved centres nationwide, including Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ikeja.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Nigerian Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, explained that the wide distribution of the centres was intended to promote inclusiveness, equal access, and a transparent, merit-driven recruitment process for eligible candidates.

“The Nigerian Air Force has commenced the Zonal General Aptitude Test for the Year 2025 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46 Recruitment Exercise, with over 20,000 applicants,” the statement read.
Commenting on the exercise, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, noted that the recruitment process is anchored on fairness, integrity, and strict compliance with established standards.
He described the aptitude test as a key phase in identifying candidates strictly on merit, stressing that personnel quality is vital to the Air Force’s operational efficiency.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains firmly committed to recruiting the best candidates by merit, as the quality of our personnel is fundamental to operational effectiveness and the successful execution of our constitutional mandate,” he said.
The development comes amid plans by the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force to recruit 50,000 personnel to strengthen manpower, following a directive issued by President Bola Tinubu on November 26.
