LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor Lege Miami has addressed the controversy surrounding his long-standing friendship with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The actor recently stated in a video that he had “never enjoyed” his relationship with Seyi Tinubu, noting that despite their closeness, his calls often go unanswered.
He also said that his matchmaking work cost him a significant amount of money, even as many assume that his connection with Seyi should bring financial benefits.
“I never enjoy Seyi as a friend. I’ve spent a lot of money, all my matchmaking money. We communicate. At times, I can call Seyi Tinubu 100 times and he will not pick my call,” he said, adding that Seyi’s busy schedule often makes him unreachable.
His comments quickly triggered backlash, with critics accusing him of complaining despite publicly supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party many blame for the country’s ongoing hardship.

Responding to the criticism, Lege Miami clarified that his words were taken out of context.
“When I said I’ve never enjoyed Seyi Tinubu as a friend, I meant that I’ve never stayed with him for two weeks, a month, or spent time with him continuously where he was sending me on errands. My love for Seyi Tinubu is genuine and not tied to money,” he said.
The actor further expressed frustration over what he described as a pattern of online users twisting narratives. He insisted that he earns his own money through matchmaking and did not rely financially on the president’s son.
According to him, their relationship remains strong, and Seyi Tinubu is always pleased to see him, even without an appointment.
