ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has encouraged corps members to view their service year as a valuable period to gain deeper insight into Nigeria while contributing significantly to national unity and development.
Sani delivered this message during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Orientation Course for corps members posted to the state, held on Tuesday in Kaduna.
He was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Gloria Ibrahim.

He praised the corps members for completing the three-week orientation programme, acknowledging their discipline, resilience, and dedication throughout the exercise.
Speaking to them, he said, “As you step out of this camp and into your host communities, know that the NYSC year is more than just a service; it is your chance to really know Nigeria, and for Nigeria to know you.”
The governor urged them to prioritise their personal safety, stay alert, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
He further encouraged them to embrace the cultures of their host communities by learning local languages, participating in community activities, and fostering unity across ethnic and religious divides.
He called on the corps members to make meaningful contributions wherever they are assigned whether in schools, health centres, or offices emphasising that even small acts of service can create long-lasting impact.
Sani also reaffirmed the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to upgrading camp facilities and improving the welfare of corps members, stressing that the administration remains strongly aligned with the principles of the NYSC scheme.
In her remarks, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Efeke Dadaza, applauded the corps members for demonstrating exceptional resilience and commitment during the orientation period.
She noted their active participation in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training, sports, and other camp activities, expressing confidence in their ability to perform well throughout their service year.
Dadaza urged them to accept their postings with a positive mindset and uphold good conduct as ambassadors of their families and institutions.
She also encouraged them to fully engage in Community Development Service (CDS) projects to make meaningful contributions to their host communities.
She extended her appreciation to the Kaduna State Government for its support in enhancing camp welfare, as well as to camp officials, partners, and stakeholders for their roles in ensuring the success of the programme.
