LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- A bold push for early political consolidation swept through Oyo State on Friday as the All Progressives Congress formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, signalling a unified front ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
The declaration came at the Oyo APC Stakeholders’ Summit in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where party leaders framed unity as the essential currency for reclaiming political dominance. The gathering, one of the largest since the 2023 polls, brought together senators, party stalwarts and local government chairmen to chart a renewed path for electoral mobilisation.
The party’s 2023 governorship candidate and Oyo Ambassador for Renewed Hope, Senator Teslim Folarin, set the tone with a charge to build on Tinubu’s previous performance.
“The party’s primary objective is to consolidate its 2023 presidential performance by securing at least a 35 percent increase in votes for President Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
He stressed that “no political strategy, no matter how brilliant, can succeed in an atmosphere of division,” adding that the ‘One APC, One Tinubu Project’ must guide the party’s efforts.

Moving through the summit’s agenda, speakers underscored the need for stronger grassroots structures capable of energising ward and community-level engagement. Folarin noted that internal disputes within the Oyo APC had been settled, saying the chapter is now positioned to deliver a decisive victory for Tinubu.
The Minister of Power and governorship aspirant, Chief Bayo Adelabu, echoed that message, describing the meeting as a turning point for party cohesion.
“We are now speaking with one voice. There is no faction, no division within the Oyo State APC,” he said, adding that reconciliation within the chapter was “90 percent complete.”
According to him, if an election were held today, “it would be a landslide victory for Oyo APC.” He affirmed that the endorsement of Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate was embraced by all.
Further reinforcing the unity narrative, Senators Ayoade Adeseun and Fatai Buhari urged members to close ranks and sustain reconciliation efforts. They pointed to the large turnout as evidence that the party’s healing process is taking root.
With the endorsement now official, Oyo APC leaders left the summit projecting confidence and cohesion, two qualities they say will define the party’s march toward 2027.
