Gunmen Attack Kogi Church, Abduct Pastor, Wife, Worshippers

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, came under attack on Sunday as armed bandits invaded the worship centre.

The incident occurred during the Sunday service.

Residents said the community was thrown into confusion when the attackers stormed the area while worshippers were gathered for prayers.

According to locals, gunshots rang out around the church, forcing congregants to flee in different directions.

The pastor, popularly known as Orlando, was seized alongside his wife and several other church members.

Witnesses described the invasion as frightening, noting that the bandits struck without warning and left the community in deep distress.

The exact number of abducted persons remains uncertain.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the state government nor the Police had issued an official statement on the incident.
