OGUN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-American rapper Onika Maraj, better known as Nicki Minaj, on Tuesday addressed a United Nations event in New York, where she spoke about reports of alleged genocidal attacks on Christians in Nigeria.

Her appearance came after the U.S. Mission to the United Nations announced that Minaj would join U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Michael Waltz, as one of the featured speakers at the forum.

Speaking in a broadcast streamed on the Mission’s official YouTube channel, Minaj condemned the repeated attacks on religious communities, warning that the violence had reached “deeply alarming” levels.

She emphasized that the crisis “goes beyond Nigeria,” calling for urgent global attention and a stronger international response.
